From the following research I have found out what a digipak is and what digipaks contain. I have also learn't the kind of differences that digipaks have over the standard CDs for the same album. And also why people would pay the premium to get a digipak over a CD.
When looking at these different digipak designs I have seen what you must include when it comes to creating a digipak.Here are some:
- Genre related advertisment eg. Pop = bright colours
- High quality materials, must feel premium
- Improved artwork and design from the standard CD design
These are some of the main things i have found that are apparent when it comes to digipak designs and how they look, some good examples of digipaks that follow these steps are Rihanna's follows the genre point on how the genre should be shown in some ways with the artwork and colours used for the design. Gorillaz is a good example of a digipak design that has additional artwork and gives more when the customer pays more.
